A simple checklist for comparing brokers

Five dimensions to compare before you open an account.

Choosing a broker is less about finding the “best” name and more about fit. Use this checklist when you compare two or more platforms.

DimensionQuestions to ask
MarketsWhich exchanges and asset classes are supported?
FeesCommissions, FX spreads, and any monthly or inactivity fees?
PlatformMobile, desktop, or API — does it match how you trade?
FundingDeposit and withdrawal methods, speed, and limits?
SafetyRegulation, insurance or investor protection schemes?

Narrow the list first

Filter by must-haves (for example US stocks only, or a specific market). Then compare the remaining candidates on fees and UX.

Keep notes

A short table of your own beats memorizing marketing pages. Update it when pricing changes.
